2. Paint a Banner
You can choose to paint a banner on your own and deliver it back to us to be hung in the exhibit. Cities and exhibit hosts choose the artwork that will hang in their community street exhibit. Large images and basic designs painted with good contrast work the best. It is better to have exaggerated contrast; more than what may seem necessary. You can test your painted design by hanging it somewhere so that you can look at it from 50ft away. Order a set of blank banners from us for $25 plus shipping. You can then paint it yourself or with friends, family or students. |

3. Come to a banner painting workshop: Workshops are conducted in a variety of settings with a broad range of groups and individuals. We conduct banner painting activities at public events and gatherings. It is our mission to broaden participation in the arts and to involve the general public in these projects. We encourage wide spectrum of participation of all people from children to seniors, able and disabled, the willing and the timid. 4. Host a Banner painting workshop
Your organization or group can host a 1 to 5 workshop. You can help to paint a few banners or many depending on the number of days. I day can paint one side of up to 10 banners. Design workshops are available but you can also choose to paint designs that have been sent in to us by individuals. |
|
|
3. Host an Exhibit: Simply bring one of our exhibits to your town for 1-2 months. Exhibits rent for $1000 -$3500. See workshop and and touring and workshop

4. Host a Workshop and Touring Exhibit Workshops are offered in conjunction with touring exhibits. A four-day workshop can make up to 60 designs and can involve a wide range of community participants. Fee: $4000 includes all banners, materials and workshop services for up to 30 two sides completed banners (60 designs).
Banners made at your workshops can stay in your town or can tour, you can make that choice. Scheduling a workshop brings 20 touring banners of your choice to join your exhibition without exhibit fees.
Programs are customized as well. Your prospective project may have some unique goals and objectives that would require additional planning to structure the workshop and exhibits to meet particular needs. |

A Perfect School Project
Workshops have been set up for schools and organizations for their members. In a school workshop, the students, parents and staff participate. In most cases these workshops don't allow for public walk-ins. Many times these workshops are based on a theme and the group works together to paint a series of banners. For Example: Haddam Elementary School chose to visually depict the words to the song America the Beautiful. Students designed and painted the banners in their art room with parent volunteers. Educational materials and democracy activity sheets were also provided.

What happens at a workshop?
The workshop is set up for people to design and paint their artwork or help to paint prepared artwork. All materials are provided. The workshop will also be able to familiarize people with designs that work best for displaying on a lamppost. We can give advice to people that come with designs they have been prepared in advance. There will be equipment there that will allow you to reproduce your artwork onto the banner canvas. We provide paintbrushes but if you like your own, bring them to use. We provide acrylic paint for these workshops. We do not use oil paints. Participants are asked to dress for painting but smocks will be available.

What happens to the artwork after the show is over? |

Communities that have designed and painted their banners will have a choice of allowing the banner to continue touring or auction or hang the banner in a number of public locations that will house and display these banners on a temporary or permanent basis. |
